Screenwriting

From a very early age, my main motivation to enter the film industry was to become a professional screenwriter one day. I’m not focused on any particular genre, as character always comes first. However, I think drama suits me best. I very much enjoy the exploration and researching of new subject matters. My most recent feature script for instance revolves around two U.S. Marines returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2009 — a story that required an in-depth research on the branch and subjects like warfare, PTSD, and reintegration issues.

Due to my experience in method acting, my approach to writing screenplays and developing characters has changed tremendously over time. Today, I’m applying a process known as method writing — a more heart-over-head approach as I literally embody the characters, allowing for more authenticity on the page.
